About the artist

Ale Saiz is a visual artist based in Mérida, Yucatán, México. Her work emerges from an ongoing exploration of perception, observation, and what lies beyond the immediate reach of the eye. Through drawing, she explores the spaces where the visible and invisible meet, inviting the viewer to pause and contemplate what normally goes unnoticed.

Although her professional background is in architecture, her artistic practice has been primarily self-taught. After several years in the field, a change of residence led her to reconnect with drawing, a practice that had always been part of her life. Over time, what began as a personal exploration gradually evolved into an artistic practice shaped by observation, discipline, and ongoing research.

She works exclusively with colored pencils on paper, a medium she uses to gradually build color, light, and volume with great precision. Through this technique, she explores the behavior of matter in its liquid state and the visual possibilities that emerge from the interaction of color, gravity, and movement.

She currently develops original artwork and Fine Art prints from her studio in Mérida, México.
